Funerals

“Every soul shall have a taste of death” is the promise of Allah (swt) .

When you lose a loved one, it’s difficult to know what to do to organise the funeral and the burial. Iqra Education & Community Forum can help you with this process. You can contact us to help with every step of the process, below we have listed some of the important things you have to do.

Medical Certificate

Get a medical certificate from the hospital or GP. If the death has been reported to the coroner, you will have to discuss arrangements with the coroner’s office. If the cause of death is clear, the coroner will issue a certificate to state no post-mortem is required and you can proceed with burial arrangements.

Register the Death

Register the death with the medical certificate. Contact the local registration office and book a slot. Some will have arrangements for urgent appointments for religious reasons. Ensure you ask for the required documents to take with you to the appointment.

Arrange the Funeral

Contact us to help you with arrangements, we can help to arrange for the deceased to be collected from the hospital, arrange washing, shrouding, Janaza prayer & transport to the burial ground.

Burial
We can help you choose the burial place, there are two Muslim cemeteries in Salisbury. We can contact them on your behalf and arrange the burial for you.
